Invincible (2006)

Synopsis: Every child has that dream. That dream of one day playing in the bigs. Most kids don't get to live that dream but no matter how old they are, that dream will always live in them. Well, this story is about the true tale of Vince Papale who got to live that dream when everything in his life and the city he loved, Philidelphia, was going to shit. In 1976, the Philidelphia Eagles football team held open try outs, and well, Vince Papale went from a zero bartender to a hero in his city, not only uplifting his friends, but the neighborhood out of depression.

Should You Watch It? Well, it's a Disney film. So, I mean, everything is pretty expected and formulaic. Now, that's not neccessarily a bad thing. I mean, it's formulaic for a reason: people like it. And hell, this movie was really entertaining and made me feel good about myself! It made me feel like I can go out there and make something of myself no matter how old I am or how crappy things are.

Things to Watch Out For: No matter how hard Mark Wahlburg tries, he doesn't seem to be able to play anyone but himself. But I guess, that's what people want to see. I mean, he did dedicate his book to his penis. So, anyone with that much personality is worth watching. Elizabeth Banks is back in a new role as well, and yeah she's still pretty hot. The only real actor in this movie is Greg Kinnear, showing once again his versatility.

Things You Don't Expect: Disney usually has pretty good writers and everything they do is pretty solid. But this movie had a couple of plot holes that kinda took away from the story. It was nothing to do with the main story line but when the film finished, it felt imcomplete, tsk tsk.
