Laws of Attraction (2004)

Synopsis: Julianne Moore and Pierce Brosnan play Audrey Woods, and Daniel Rafferty, respectfully. as two of New York's best divorce attorneys. I'm not going to try to spare you the plot or story or twists because there are none. Everyone knows what's going to happen and it happens pretty fast. They fall in love reluctantly even though they are completely different people. Stereotypically different, painfully stereotypically different is what I meant. Then they obviously get pitted against each other in a case and one person screws up choosing work over love and then the story goes to tell us how important love is worth and spelling out the simple theme, that love is worth fighting for.

Why You Should Watch It: There is really no reason to watch this movie unless you are a huge and I mean huge Pierce Brosnan or Julianne Moore fan. Or maybe you just are....bored...and..no not even that should be enough...dammit! Not even Moore's clever portrayle of a insecure, yet beautiful woman underneath, is enough to push this movie into the bearable category.

Things to Watch Out For: If you're still reading this, still wondering if you should watch it, then the thing you should watch out for is yourself and how sad you are for wanting to watch this movie..sigh..yes I know I'm sad...dont' be like me!

Things You Don't Expect: The lack of humour. I mean there are scenes where I know I'm supposed to laugh, but the laughter just doesn't come! I don't get it! the only positive I can pick out of this movie is Frances Fisher. She plays Sara Miller, Audrey's mother, whose an aristocratic, high class, drug taking, rock concert going, wildly promiscuous dame. A very interesting and well acted character.

Final Score: Fail
