Synopsis: Napoleon (Jon Heder) is a troubled young man. Although troubled might not be the best way to describe him. He's an outcast in highschool but he doesn't care. In fact, he doesn't care about very much of anything. He doesn't even care to open his eyes when he talks about something. Naturally he's considered a loser and to make things worse, his entire family, especially his uncle Ric is a real loser. So as you can tell it's hard for him to succeed in this environment. But things change when he meets Pedro Sanchez (Efren Ramirez) whose also a loser but a bit more ambitious about life. Pedro decides to run for class president and this is the stage when Napoleon will show the world his true self for better or for worse, but it's okay cause like I said before, he doesn't really care about anything and especially not about this.
Should You Watch It? This film is pretty quirky as you have to really buy into his family situation and see the world the way he sees it. It's difficult at times and there will be moments in the film where you'll be scratching your head thinking "this would never happen". But that's not the point. The point is that these things do happen and the story is what Napoleon does when they do. It's freakin' hilarious once you buy into his life and the people around him.
Things to Watch Out For: The support characters in this movie are so brilliant. His crazy uncle Ric to his brother Kip. They are freakin' weird and freakin so full of colour that it's a treat to watch. Even the secondary characters who seem just like extras have a lot of flavour and it really shows what kinda people they portray. It's great writing and better acting to be able to pull this off.
Things You Don't Expect: The many awkard and hilarious situations this movie has. It's also pretty slow and there are long moments of silence which some people will get and some people won't get.
